About the Role

A welcoming and inclusive school in Birmingham is looking to appoint a committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils in their academic and personal development while gaining valuable experience within the education sector.

Working closely with teachers and the SEN team, you will support students who require additional help to access the curriculum and fully engage in classroom learning.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils in the classroom.
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
  • Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapt learning materials to suit the needs of individual pupils.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and SEN staff.
  • Encourage students' confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
  • Provide emotional and behavioural support where required.


Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students and helping them succeed.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learners.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification are advantageous but not essential.
