Occupational Therapist

We’re currently working with Cheshire West & Chester Council to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to support adults within the community.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys making a direct impact—helping individuals maintain independence and remain safely in their own homes.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for assessing individuals who are living with illness or disability, identifying their needs, and recommending practical solutions to improve their day-to-day independence.

This includes working closely with service users, families, and partner organisations to deliver tailored outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out assessments for clients requiring equipment and/or property adaptations
• Recommend and arrange appropriate interventions based on individual needs and prognosis
• Support hospital discharges by ensuring necessary equipment is in place
• Provide practical advice and guidance to service users and carers
• Liaise with housing teams, NHS services, and other agencies to coordinate support
• Work with architects and home improvement agencies to review and approve adaptation plans
• Assist with sourcing funding where required (e.g. through charities or external bodies)

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified Occupational Therapist
• Has experience working with adults in a community or social care setting
• Is confident assessing needs and recommending practical solutions
• Can work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
• Is proactive and organised, with strong communication skills
