Freelance Health & Safety Manager – Data Centre Fit-Out
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Contract: 24 Months
Start: ASAP
Working Pattern: Site-based, 5 days per week
We are currently seeking a Freelance Health & Safety Manager to join a major data centre fit-out project in Hemel Hempstead. This is a long-term opportunity working with a leading Main Contractor on a high-profile scheme approaching its final delivery phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site health & safety operations during the fit-out stage
- Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and company standards
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Drive a proactive safety culture across all trades and subcontractors
- Lead toolbox talks, inductions, and incident investigations
- Work closely with the project team to support a safe, efficient project completion
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an H&S Manager on large-scale construction or data centre projects
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation
- Relevant qualifications (NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma or equivalent)
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence site teams
- Main contractor experience preferred
