Heavy Plant Fitter

V-Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced, Heavy Plant Fitter, on behalf of an Engineering and Construction contractor, based in the Doncaster area of South Yorkshire.

This is a permanent role.

Duties to include;

  • Maintain, service, diagnose and repair Heavy Plant Equipment, such as Wirtgen, JCBs etc.
  • Ensure completion of company documentation relating to heavy plant
  • Fault finding, inspections and repairs on small plant will also be required, i.e. multidrill, angle grinders etc.
  • Occasionally, you may have to travel to sites to complete repairs – you will receive additional pay for this
  • Use and operate workshop facilities and equipment in accordance with company and legislative requirements
  • Must be able to make decisions and problem solve

Normal working hours are 8am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday

Ad hoc overtime is available, paid at enhanced overtime rates

£Negotiable rate, D.O.E.

This is a permanent role, with direct employment with our client or temp to perm through ourselves

The right candidate will;

  • A professionally recognised qualification in Plant Maintenance & Repair – NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds or at least 2 years’ experience
  • Must have knowledge in finding faults on electrical systems and hydraulics/pneumatic systems
  • Be able to weld using MIG welding equipment
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence
